Morris Day and The Time
Morris Day and The Time are scheduled to perform at the Dos Equis Pavilion on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. The Time is an American musical group that was formed in 1981. They are best known for their hits “Jungle Love”, “The Bird”, and “777-9311”. The group was originally consisted of Morris Day, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis. The current members of The Time are Morris Day, Jellybean Johnson, and Monte Moir.
The Time got their start in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were originally created as an opening act for Prince. The group’s first album was released in 1981 and was self-titled, “The Time”. The album was a moderate success, but it was their second album, “What Time Is It?”, that made them famous. The album spawned the hits “Jungle Love” and “The Bird”. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA.
The Time’s next album, “Ice Cream Castle”, was released in 1984. The album was another success, spawning the hit “777-9311
